Axel is specialized on Sustainability Strategy & Management projects. He has more than 24 years of consulting experience. Beside Sustainability Strategy & Management Axel has functional experience in decarbonization strategies, CCUS, climate adaptation and sustainability valuation. Axel has a cross-sector profile working primarily in Automotive, Chemicals, Transportation, Retail, Healthcare and Energy.

Martijn is a Partner M&A - Infrastructure & Technical Due Diligence within ERM with 20+ years’ experience. Martijn facilitates stakeholders within the infrastructure value chain in making their investment decisions and assessing their processes. By providing insight into risks and opportunities he provides comfort to the finance community to make a well-founded investment decision.

He is well informed about the Electricity and Gas markets, and aware of the roles of the various market players. Martijn has been involved in all kind of technical, market/ commercial and ESG DDs across the globe for various technologies (like renewables, BESS, energy from waste, thermal generation, hydrogen (incl. derivatives), T&D and charging infrastructure) varying in greenfield, brownfield and portfolio’s.

He ranked in the top-3 for (technical) advisors in the M&A dealmaker's magazine for the last 5 years.

Charles is a Partner at ERM Germany and serves as the Renewables Lead for Central Europe, covering markets such as Germany, Poland, Romania, Switzerland, and neighboring countries. He focuses on wind, solar, and battery storage, driving strategic growth and supporting clients in accelerating their energy transition. With 17 years of experience driving business development and go-to-market strategies for energy projects across Europe, Charles has built deep expertise in natural gas, renewables and hydrogen technologies, particularly in North-Western and Eastern European markets. His career includes a strong foundation in energy infrastructure development, covering gas transportation and storage as well as regulatory affairs.

Since joining ERM, Charles has led renewable energy initiatives in Germany and Central Europe, steering strategic projects that accelerate the energy transition. He has managed major offshore wind and onshore renewables development projects, advising clients on consenting processes and stakeholder engagement to support successful market entry and project delivery.

Annette is based in Hamburg, Germany. She holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering and European Energy Economics and has more than 30 years of experience in environmental, health & safety (EH&S) management with a specific focus on the wind sector. She has worked extensively on both onshore and offshore wind assignments, including planning and permitting of onshore wind farms, developing EH&S management frameworks for wind farm construction sites, providing construction site on-site EH&S support as well as implementing safety culture diagnostics and improvement programmes for offshore wind suppliers. 

Katrin is a Consulting Director in ERM's Contaminated Sites & Decommissioning practice, with over 25 years of experience in brownfield remediation, decommissioning and specialist geotechnical and civil engineering. A qualified civil engineer (Dipl.-Ing.), she leads ERM's DDD (Decommissioning, Decontamination & Demolition) programmes across the EMEA region and advises industrial, infrastructure and energy clients on decommissioning, remediation and value-preserving land redevelopment.

Her focus is to support onshore wind and renewables clients across the full land and asset lifecycle — from environmental due diligence (Phase I/II) and transaction support through to end-of-life decommissioning, repowering, and the redevelopment of former industrial and landfill sites for renewable use, including onshore wind and battery storage (BESS). Earlier in her career she helped integrate wind power into the after-use concepts of closed landfills — turning otherwise constrained land into an asset for the energy transition. Through ERM's Liability Portfolio Management & Remediation practice, she gives clients risk and cost transparency, scenario optimisation and KPI-based portfolio management, combining in-depth German and EU regulatory expertise (BBodSchG, BImSchG, WHG) with strong technical knowledge of soil, groundwater.

David has over 20 years leading and delivering environmental and social impact assessments for large scale capital projects across the globe, with a focus on Europe, Australia and Southeast Asia.

His focus is to support energy clients (incl. onshore & offshore wind, BESS, CCUS, O&G) with their renewable ambitions through delivery of environmental consenting, project finance, and environmental survey design and implementation. David has an in-depth understanding of the energy market, understands both international and national compliance standards and a solid technical knowledge in environmental and social subjects with a focus on offshore scopes.
