It is easy to be discouraged by a world that is evermore complex, volatile and threatened. It is much more challenging to think about how to harness that complexity and energy for benefits across the environment, economy and society. The more we learn about sustainability, the more motivated I am to work to effect change.

Based in London, Denise conducts various client and research projects spanning a variety of sectors, with an emphasis on food and beverage and finance. She also supports SustainAbility’s Engaging Stakeholders Network, contributing to research on accountability and stakeholder engagement, and working with member companies to deliver network benefits and customised reporting and transparency projects.

Prior to joining SustainAbility, Denise worked in a variety of roles in the UK and beyond. She has experience primarily in stakeholder engagement and socio-economic development, with core skills in qualitative research and analysis, relationship-building and project management. She has also enjoyed 18 months with the London 2012 Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) as the primary liaison with 15 nations participating in the Games from the Americas region. Subsequently she went on to work with a small London-based consultancy in public and stakeholder engagement and consultation for clients including infrastructure and energy companies. Denise also has international experience working with both national and global development organisations and NGOs, mainly in Latin America and India, and focusing on social challenges for internally displaced persons and strategic planning for environmental and disaster risk reduction.
