Chris Guenther
Research Director

Economic, social and environmental systems are more dynamic and interrelated than ever. Sustainability is fundamentally about how well we harness and create value from – rather than become victims of – that interplay.

Based in the Bay Area, Chris is an experienced consultant and researcher on a wide range of topics. His consulting work crosses the energy, IT, food and transportation sectors, encompassing themes including strategy, marketing, stakeholder engagement and communications. As Research Director, Chris oversees the full portfolio of SustainAbility’s research and specializes particularly in thinking about corporate strategy and innovation, consumers and brands, business case, urbanization and other topics.

Chris is a graduate of the MBA/MS program at the University of Michigan’s Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise and his previous experience includes organizing environmental campaigns, web and graphic design, editing and IT systems consulting.
