SustainAbility convenes roundtable on offshoring
Whose Job?: Corporate Responsibility and Offshoring
We convened this roundtable in response to interest following the publication of “Good Migrations? BT, Corporate Social Responsibility and the Geography of Jobs”:../library/good-migrations. Offshoring has emerged as a highly politicized and contentious issue, particularly given intense media scrutiny and trade union action.
Aims
Our aim was to engage leading companies on their experiences, dilemmas and best practice on offshoring. Our focus was on how jobs could be offshored responsibly – taking into account the socio-economic and political implications of job losses in the home country, balanced against well managed job creation in the country of destination.
