The key global threats—including the credit crunch, rising food prices and climate change—present business with a uniquely inter-related set of challenges. These are not new by any means, but have reached a scale and pitch that now makes profound innovation a critical necessity. As business is increasingly called upon to address these challenges, current corporate strategies of risk management and eco-efficiency will not be enough.
