Third-party assurance is a way for a company to build stakeholder confidence that its approach to an issue is robust and reliable. At present, there are no requirements for companies to have their sustainability reports assured. In SustainAbility’s view, various forms of assurance all address something different for stakeholders, and potentially can all work together.
