With both organizations founded in 1987, SustainAbility and GlobeScan have worked together on a variety of issues across the sustainability agenda for decades. Tremendous mutual respect exists between the organizations, and a natural blend has emerged between GlobeScan’s more quantitative and SustainAbility’s more qualitative skills and approaches that creates great benefits for those who experience our joint work.

In 2009 we made a decision to enter a formal partnership, teaming up to establish The Sustainability Survey (TSS) Research Program. This comprehensive program is a collaborative platform for the advancement of sustainable development, using research-driven expert insights to drive conversations and explore solutions to business’ biggest sustainability challenges. At the core of the program are insights from ongoing polling of the most influential thought leaders in the sustainable development arena. These experts come from over 90 countries and represent a range of important stakeholder groups including business leaders, government officials, NGO leaders and academics.

In addition to the TSS program, SustainAbility and GlobeScan frequently combine offerings in ways that increase the quality of service we can offer clients and the catalytic effect we have in terms of advancing the sustainability agenda. Recent collaborations include joint work for companies in the IT and fast moving consumer goods industries. SustainAbility and GlobeScan also run periodic panel discussions or ‘Salons’, where SustainAbility, GlobeScan and other experts examine the challenges of transformational business leadership on the sustainability agenda through discussion based on TSS and other GlobeScan polling data and extending to encompass other points of view and interpretations of the most pressing environmental, social and economic challenges faced by business and society.
