My Precious (COP 15)
I just calculated that I have not been exposed to sunlight since about 16:00 on Tuesday. That’s 73 hours and counting that I have been operating under artificial light sources. Throw in the fact that I haven’t washed or changed my clothes for three days, and I’m starting to wonder: at what point do I turn into the Gollum creature?
Post-2012 Treaty = The Precious (one ring to bind them all)? Certainly the pursuit of this goal is making me do some rather odd things, though I’ll endeavour to stop short of eating fish from the water feature in the lobby of the Bella Center.

Gollum enjoys a fish
17:15 – French President Nicolas Sarkozy, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and Spanish Prime Minister José Luis RodrÃguez Zapatero have just swept through Hall B with the force of an Atlantic Hurricane. I note wryly that the frequency and intensity of these events seems to be increasing with each minute that we lose in these negotiations. In my weary mind, the prospects of these guys forging The Precious in the remaining hours of COP 15 are receding.
